EHV lines are used to move large amounts of power across long distances. The higher the voltage, the lower the losses. In addition, by being able to move more power across one line, fewer overall lines are needed for transmission. This reduces project costs and the right of way required. The rapid increase in power requirement, increase in government incentive policy to reduce carbon emissions, low transmission losses, and technological advancement are some of the drivers of the EHV transmission market. The market is expected to show a sound growth in the coming years.
